Colorado Gives Day 2011

Colorado Gives Day is in its second year and we are blown away by the outpouring of support our fellow Coloradoans give.  As an organization that is almost sixty years old (in 2013) we’ve never had such a rush of donations as we have had in the last two years.  Community First Foundation, First Bank, and all of its sponsors are an amazing partnership for which we are forever grateful. This activity has created a platform and a culture of giving; there is excitement and energy around giving when you know that thousands of fellow residents are also giving to the non-profits they love.  Community First Foundation and First Bank have completely changed the way small organizations look at giving campaigns.  It is never fun to ask for money, but Colorado Gives Day makes the process fun and inspirational.  Last year, Colorado Honor Band received over $11,000.00 in donations and this year almost $9,000.00.  This support allows us to repair more instruments to put into the hands of students, provide programming for more schools and individual students, buy more sheet music, update our percussion equipment, continue to perform at the Kenneth King Center, and continue to hire amazing professional staff to teach our students.  Colorado Honor Band would like to give a huge hug to Community First Foundation and First Bank for being champions for non-profits across the state of Colorado.  And to our dear Colorado Honor Band supporters: thank you so much for your support in helping CHBA and the young people in our community to thrive.
